In practical terms, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the optimization of a page or site with the objective of improving indexation by search engines.

The correct use of SEO techniques permits better positioning of a site in search results. This practise has no guarantee. In other words, no company or person can guarantee that a specific site will be the first result in any given search.

Adwords

AdWords is similar in every way to a search carried out on a search engine whose results are ads in link form. The advertiser defines the cost for this type of on-line campaign.
Since this is a way to acquire highly segmented advertising, it is based on three cost systems:

CPC (cost per click) - is only paid when the user clicks on the ad.
CPM (cost per mile) - is paid whenever the ad is exhibited (in sets of one thousand).
CPA (cost per action) - in this method, the advertiser only pays for the ad when a specific intended action occurs.

AdWord ads are exhibited together with the search engine results.
